The Semmco Passenger and Galley Cart Lifter provides a safe system for lifting passengers and galley carts from ground level to heights up to 3.2 metres.
The unit is towable to the loading position on the aircraft, where the 2 stage system allows safe and easy loading of the passenger or galley cart. It incorporates both a tail lift and scissor lift. The tail lift is mounted at the rear and conveys passengers and carts from ground level to an interim deck.
The second stage scissor lift (with interlock safety gates), using an electrically powered actuation system, is then raised up to the aircraft cabin (maximum height 3.2m).
At the required height a simple ramp and sliding safety rail are positioned allowing safe transfer of the passenger/galley cart on to the aircraft.
Semmco is also able to offer other variants that can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
