Helicopter Access

Helicopter Access Platforms for Safe Rotorcraft Maintenance

Semmco designs and manufactures helicopter access platforms that give engineers safe, stable access to the main rotor, tail rotor, tail boom, engine bays and fuselage. Developed for helicopter operators, MRO organisations and production lines, our platforms help maintenance teams work efficiently at height around complex rotorcraft geometry.

Our helicopter access equipment supports a wide range of civil and military helicopters, including the Airbus H125, H135 and H145 (EC135 and EC145), Leonardo AW139 and Sikorsky S-76 and S-92, where compatibility is specified.

Fixed and Variable Height Helicopter Platforms

The range includes fixed-height platforms for repeatable tasks at a set working height and variable-height platforms that let engineers adjust the working position to suit the aircraft and the task. Dedicated side access, tail access, main and tail rotor and production line platforms are available for specific helicopter types.

For larger helicopters such as the S-92 and AW139, Semmco offers complete platform sets with front, main, boom and tail sections that work together to provide access along the full length of the aircraft.

Designed Around the Helicopter

Semmco helicopter platforms combine lightweight aluminium construction with slip-resistant decking, guardrails and gated access. Platforms are shaped to fit closely around the airframe, helping engineers reach rotor heads, gearboxes and tail rotor assemblies safely and comfortably.

Specialist solutions such as blade wash platforms support routine cleaning and inspection of rotor blades in hangar environments.

Bespoke Helicopter Access Solutions

Every helicopter type and hangar is different. Alongside our standard range, Semmco develops bespoke helicopter access platforms designed around the specific aircraft, maintenance task and facility layout.

Frequently Asked Questions About Helicopter Access Platforms

What are helicopter access platforms used for?

Helicopter access platforms give engineers a stable, guarded working area for inspecting, servicing and repairing helicopters. They are used to reach the main rotor, tail rotor, tail boom, engine bays and fuselage.

Which helicopters are Semmco access platforms designed for?

Semmco offers platforms for helicopters including the Airbus H125, H135 and H145 (EC135 and EC145), Leonardo AW139 and Sikorsky S-76 and S-92. Compatibility depends on the individual product and should always be checked against the helicopter type.

What is the difference between fixed-height and variable-height helicopter platforms?

Fixed-height platforms provide access at a set working height and suit repeatable tasks. Variable-height platforms can be adjusted so engineers can set the working position to suit the aircraft and the maintenance task.

Can I get a complete platform set for one helicopter type?

Yes. For helicopters such as the S-92 and AW139, Semmco offers platform sets with front, main, boom and tail sections that work together to provide access along the full length of the aircraft.

Does Semmco offer platforms for rotor blade washing?

Yes. Semmco offers a fixed-height blade wash platform that gives engineers safe access for cleaning and inspecting rotor blades in the hangar.

Does Semmco offer bespoke helicopter access solutions?

Yes. In addition to the standard range, Semmco designs bespoke helicopter access platforms around specific aircraft types, maintenance tasks and hangar layouts.
